Bear Down: In London?!
For all those Chicago Bears fans out there, do you know what’s happening this fall? The Chicago Bears will be traveling to London on October 6th to play the Oakland Raiders at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at 6 p.m., which is noon Chicago time. The stadium sits right in North London and can hold over 60,000 people. This means you have the perfect excuse to travel to London and possibly make a whole trip out of it! The best part about it is you can either make it a couple’s trip, a family trip or a friend trip because there is plenty to do for everyone.
London is one of our favorite places here at Royal Travel and Tours, so we are going to give you some of the best places to stay and the best things to do during your stay. The Bears game is on Sunday night so you have the whole weekend to fill up with activities.
First, the best hotels in London. We suggest you spend your stay at the Four Seasons London, the May Fair Hotel London, or The Dorchester. All three hotels are about an hour ride to the stadium, but they are set in the best spots in London. The hotels offer great dining as well as fantastic concierge services.
Since this will probably be a quick trip to London, here are the top places to see. Go and watch the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace or the changing of Horseguards at Whitehall. Seeing Churchill’s War Rooms is an amazing learning experience. The Crown Jewels at the Tower of London are fascinating, a must-see. And a classic for tourists, Big Ben, which you could see on a cute riverboat. The other must-see is the London Eye as well as riding the London eye. That will give you a real visual of the city.
London has some amazing restaurants and we are going to recommend our absolute favorites. We love Sexy Fish, a great sushi place. We also love Cecconi’s, Berner’s Tavern, Casa Cruz, Park Chinois, Brinkley’s, and many more. We are happy to give out as many recommendations as you would like, just email or call us!
For a nice lunch, head to Sketch, a tea room with the most amazing interior decorating or you can head back later when it turns into a cocktail room.
You could also go and grab a drink at one of our favorite pubs called The Grenadier on 18 Wilton Row in Belgravia.
